Lake Ohrid on a budget, from rooms to boat trips
Build an Ohrid budget with a clear room allowance, then price boats, national-park travel and the intercity station separately.
Ohrid rewards time for lakeside walks, historic places and one outing beyond town. The UNESCO description explains why the wider region matters for both culture and nature. Use that as a reason to slow down, not as a checklist of interiors.
Start with an adjustable daily plan
For one of two travellers sharing a room, a simple example might be:

This is not a live quote or a measured average. Replace the room with the complete booking price, divide it only when the room is genuinely shared, and replace every other line with your own choices. Intercity coaches, the airport, longer boat trips and a guided mountain outing are additional.
Choose the room by the complete journey
The harbour and lower centre are easier with luggage. The old town gives atmosphere, but its steps and narrow streets can turn a short map distance into a difficult carry. Ask where a vehicle can stop, whether there is heating or cooling and which taxes or cleaning fees sit outside the first price.
If you have an early coach, map the journey to Ohrid bus station before paying extra for a high old-town address. The station is not at the harbour.
Ask what the boat ticket includes
A short harbour ride, a lake excursion and a journey towards Saint Naum are different products. Ask for the route, stops, duration, return arrangement and weather policy before paying. Do not assume an outward boat creates a practical return later.
For Galičica or another nature outing, check current park access, trail conditions and transport. A mountain day needs different footwear, water and return planning from a waterfront walk.
Keep the final day flexible
