Shopping in Andorra: check the saving before you buy

Before buying something in Andorra, compare three things: the exact product, the full cost of bringing it home and the help available if it goes wrong. A lower shelf price answers only the first part of the decision.
Compare the same item
For electronics, write down the full model number, storage size, keyboard layout and included accessories. Compare that version with the price available at home. A similar name can cover a different specification, and a missing accessory can remove a small saving.
Ask the shop where a faulty item must be returned, who handles the warranty and what the return deadline is. Get the receipt and written terms before leaving. Do not assume an international brand gives identical service for every purchase location.
For clothes or shoes, try them on while you can still go back to the till. Ask how returns work after you leave Andorra. A discount has less value if the item does not fit and the return requires another journey.
Check the allowance for the border you will cross
Both French customs and Spanish customs publish rules specifically for travellers arriving from Andorra. For relevant general goods, the allowance is €900 per traveller, reduced to €450 for children under 15. Food and regulated products have separate limits and conditions.
The allowance is personal. It is not a way to divide one expensive device between several passengers. If an item exceeds the relevant allowance, check the declaration and tax treatment before paying; do not assume tax applies only to the part above the limit. Add the cost of the shopping trip
