Free visits to parliaments in Brussels, Strasbourg and Berlin
Choose the visitor programme you want, then follow that building's booking and identification rules before you arrive.
A parliament visit can show you more than the outside of a government building. It also needs a little preparation. A visitor exhibition, a chamber tour and watching a live sitting are different activities, with different access rules.
Brussels
The European Parliament's Brussels Hemicycle page explains the free visit and its booking requirements. Individual visitors need a reservation and a valid physical national ID card or passport. Follow the instructions for your particular booking, including arrival time and security.
The page also announces that the Brussels Hemicycle will close for renovation from January 2027 until further notice. Check the current visitor offer before planning a future trip. The Parlamentarium is a separate visitor attraction, so its availability should be checked independently.
Strasbourg
In Strasbourg, the European Parliament offers free visits with different arrangements during and outside plenary sessions. Use the section matching your date. Do not assume that seeing the chamber means you will see members debating.
Bring the required physical identification and leave time for security. If you need assistance, use the visitor service's accessibility information before arriving. Seasonal terrace access is an additional feature subject to conditions, not the reason to assume every part of the building is open.
Berlin
The Reichstag dome and roof terrace can be visited free with registration. Wait for confirmation, bring the required ID and check for dome maintenance closures. A dome booking is not a ticket to watch a parliamentary debate.
If you want a chamber-related programme, select it through the Bundestag's visitor service rather than trying to add it at the security desk. Each option has its own timing and availability.
