Compare what you will sleep in

Board in the Gruž port area, not the old harbour by Dubrovnik's walls. Keep travel documents ready and allow time to find the correct terminal instructions.
Bari port is another transfer
After arrival, leave time to disembark and reach your accommodation or railway station. A tightly timed separate train is a poor match for a ferry arrival. A meal and a short walk in Bari can be a better first plan than immediately crossing Italy on another ticket.
