Start with the city stop, not the airport
Intercity Buses links Larnaca with Nicosia. Its current timetable measures departures from Nikolaidis Building in Larnaca, so consult the stop list before waiting at the seafront. Allow about 75 minutes for the complete route, with extra time for the approach from your room and traffic.
The adult cash single is €5. This is a city-to-city bus ticket. If you start at Larnaca Airport, compare the direct airport shuttle with a local bus into Larnaca and this separate intercity ride. The Kapnos Nicosia shuttle station is on Kyrenias Avenue, while the Intercity service serves the city centre around Solomos Square.
Give the museum and streets enough time
From the Nicosia city stop, plan your walk to the Cyprus Museum or your accommodation. The museum is on Mouseiou Street outside the walls and has free entry. Check its opening calendar before making it the main reason for an early bus.
Leave the old streets for a cooler part of the day and take a proper lunch break. A Green Line crossing is optional and needs its own document checks; you can have a full Nicosia day without adding it. Read the Nicosia guide before deciding how long to stay.
Buy for the journeys you will take
Carry cash for the Intercity driver. If you want a return product, check its current point of sale and conditions rather than assuming every ticket is sold on board. Local CPT rides within either city have separate fares.
Save a return departure before setting off on a day trip. For an overnight stay, check the room's location on the map and leave the luggage transfer in your timing. Do not build a same-day flight connection around the last available bus.
