Choose the stations nearest your plans
The Hague and Delft are roughly 10 km apart. A suitable direct train takes about 10 to 15 minutes from Den Haag Centraal or Den Haag HS to Delft. The two Hague stations serve different parts of the city. Search from the one that fits your accommodation, using the NS planner for the current services.
Choose Delft station for the old centre. Delft Campus is a different stop. Allow roughly 15 minutes for the walk from Delft station towards Markt, with more time for luggage or a slower pace. If a church visit is booked, leave a buffer between the arrival and the start time.
A train is not the only local option
There are also local tram connections between the cities. Depending on your starting address, a tram may save a transfer even though it takes longer than the train between stations. Use the HTM planner for the exact stop and any diversions. Compare that door-to-door journey with NS before choosing.
NS and HTM tickets are separate unless a particular pass explicitly includes both. With ordinary bank-card travel, use the same card or device to check in and out of each operator. Check the current fare and return journey in the relevant planner.
Give Delft the time you came for
Delft can fill a relaxed day without a complicated schedule. Walk through Markt, choose the church interiors or the tower, and leave time for lunch and the canals. The church ticket does not automatically include the climb. The Delft guide has the separate prices and access details.
