Picking the Right Paris Transit Card

Paris phased out paper magnetic metro ticket carnets. Every visitor needs a contactless card.

The Comparison

  • Navigo Easy (€2.00 card fee): No photo required. Buy at any metro ticket counter. Load it with digital single tickets or carnets of 10. Perfect for stays of 1 to 4 days where you walk extensively.
  • Navigo Semaine / Decouverte (€5.00 card fee + €30.75 weekly pass): Requires a physical passport photo and your written name. Valid strictly from Monday morning to Sunday midnight (not 7 rolling days). Covers unlimited travel in all zones 1-5, including CDG Airport, Orly Airport, and Versailles. Best if arriving on Monday or Tuesday for a 5-day stay.
