Train Categories
- InterCity (IC): Fastest flagship trains connecting Bucharest to Constanța, Brașov, and Cluj-Napoca. Modern air-conditioned carriages with power sockets.
- InterRegio (IR): Long-distance express trains connecting major cities. Fast and comfortable; seat reservations are compulsory and included in the ticket.
- Regio (R): Local stopping commuter trains. Very cheap (often €2 to €4 for 50 km), but slower with older rolling stock.
