Border Controls and Visa Requirements

No Border Checks: There are zero passport control checkpoints or customs barriers along the highway between Rimini (Italy) and Dogana (San Marino).
Visa Requirements: If you are legally present in Italy under Schengen rules, you are automatically legal to enter and visit San Marino. No separate visa exists or is required for tourist visits under 30 days.
Passing the Border: Look out for the highway stone welcome arch that reads: "Benvenuti nell’antica terra della liberta" (Welcome to the ancient land of liberty).
