Why This Train Is Legendary

The railway connecting Sarajevo to Mostar was rebuilt with modern Spanish Talgo trainsets and travels through the wild Neretva River valley, carving through limestone gorges, emerald reservoirs, and alpine peaks.

The 2026 Schedule

ŽFBH (Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) operates two daily trains in each direction:

• Morning Train: Departs Sarajevo around 07:15, arrives Mostar around 09:13.
• Afternoon Train: Departs Sarajevo around 16:50, arrives Mostar around 18:48.
• Return Morning: Departs Mostar around 06:40, arrives Sarajevo around 08:40.
• Return Evening: Departs Mostar around 19:50, arrives Sarajevo around 21:50.

Ticket Prices & How to Book

• Price: 14.50 BAM (€7.40) one-way, including compulsory seat reservation.
• Online Booking: Available on the official ŽFBH website (zfbh.ba). Alternatively, buy at Sarajevo or Mostar station ticket windows the day before or morning of travel.

Which Side to Sit On

• Departing Sarajevo for Mostar: Sit on the LEFT side of the train for unobstructed views looking down into the Neretva canyon and Jablanica lake.
• Departing Mostar for Sarajevo: Sit on the RIGHT side of the carriage.
