Slovenia buses: tickets, timetables and Arriva
Plan Slovenia bus journeys with current IJPP ticket choices, official timetable checks and useful links for Bled, Bohinj, Piran and Maribor.
Slovenia's intercity buses can connect Ljubljana with Bled, Bohinj, Piran and Maribor without a rental car. Arriva runs many of these services, but it is not the only operator. Search the actual route and date, then check the operator, stop name and return times shown for that journey.
Check the timetable and the stop
Start with the Ljubljana Bus Station timetable and ticket search. It covers domestic departures as well as services leaving the capital. Recheck shortly before travel because school-day, weekend and seasonal timetables can differ.
A place name can cover several stops. For Bled or Bohinj, match the stop to your accommodation, lakeside plan or trailhead. Save the return stop and at least one backup departure before starting a long walk.

Choose the ticket you need
IJPP is Slovenia's integrated public-transport ticket system. The official DUJPP online-sales guide now lets you buy a single-journey ticket without registration or an IJPP card. The ticket arrives as a PDF for the selected day, and you scan its QR code from your phone when boarding. DUJPP currently limits this cardless shop to single tickets, so check another sales channel if you need a pass or discount product.
The current IJPP ticket rules list a 25% weekend discount for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. They also list family tickets at EUR 15 for up to five people and EUR 30 for up to ten people, with at least one child under 15. Those products have their own advance-purchase and card conditions. Read the official rules before relying on a discount.
Arriva's ticket-buying guidance says passengers using a staffed station such as Ljubljana should buy at the sales point before boarding. At a stop without a ticket office, Arriva describes buying from the driver with cash. Check the operator in your timetable result because another operator's sales rules may differ.
Plan the return before the walk
Bled and Bohinj are different destinations, not two stops on one lakeside walk. If you combine them, check the Bled to Bohinj connection and the final bus back to your overnight base. For Piran, allow for the trip between the bus stop and your accommodation. For Maribor, compare the bus with rail for your date rather than assuming one mode is always faster.
Carry water and a layer for a cool or wet wait. Keep your bag compact on a busy bus and ask the operator about bicycles or large equipment before travelling. If the return options make a day trip fragile, staying near the destination can be more useful than repeating the same journey from Ljubljana.
