Month-by-Month Verdicts

April & May (The Best Choice): Magnolia trees blossom on Petřín Hill, outdoor beer gardens open in Riegrovy Sady, and pleasant 18°C temperatures allow full-day walking.
June, July & August: High heat and maximum tourist crowds. Old Town Square and Charles Bridge can become gridlocked during midday.
September & October: Crisp golden autumn light, lower room rates, and harvest wine festivals (Vinobraní) pouring young fermented Moravian wine (burčák).
November to March: Cold, gray, and atmospheric. Hotel prices hit rock bottom. Prague’s cobblestones under fresh snow resemble an 18th-century painting, but pack heavy winter boots.
