Barcelona is easier to enjoy when you spread its major buildings across the trip. Give the old town, Eixample and the hills separate stretches of time, with a beach walk or a neighbourhood lunch between bookings.

Use these room and meal budgets to plan a day. They are spending choices, not average prices or available room offers. Replace the room amount with your full booking price, including tax. If sharing, divide only the private-room cost. Airport and intercity travel are extra.

Spread your bookings across the city
Start by putting your accommodation, the Sagrada Família and any other booked visit on a map. The old town, the Eixample grid and Park Güell are different parts of the day. Trying to connect all three on foot between tight entry times can leave very little time to enjoy them.
Choose one main booking, then build a nearby walk or meal around it. Gràcia's smaller streets work well after a hill visit; the Passeig de Gràcia façades suit an Eixample afternoon. Keep an unbooked stretch for sitting in a square or walking towards the sea.
Pick the right Gaudí ticket
The Sagrada Família price list separates the €26 basic visit with audioguide app from the €36 tower product. The tower involves a lift up and stairs down, so it is not an automatic upgrade for every visitor. Download what you need before arriving and bring earphones.
At Casa Batlló, the general visit is advertised from €29, with different products and date-dependent prices. An exhibition-only ticket is a different purchase. Compare the actual rooms and services included before choosing the cheapest-looking button.
Allow time for the climb to Park Güell
Park Güell has timed visitor tickets, with general admission listed at €18. Check the entrance nearest your approach and give yourself enough time for the uphill section.
The early and late periods reserved for local residents are not free tourist visiting hours. Buy an appropriate visitor ticket rather than building the day around that old shortcut. Once you leave, the ticket does not allow re-entry.
Count journeys before buying a transport ticket
Use the TMB ticket comparison to choose the number of journeys and zones you need. Two people making one journey together use two journeys from a shareable ticket. A T-casual is for one traveller, so it cannot cover both people at once.
The airport metro is a separate decision. T-casual and T-familiar are not valid through the Aeroport T1/T2 metro gates. The Aerobús has its own ticket, currently €7.75 one way. Compare its stop with your accommodation before choosing between bus, metro and rail.
Leave room for ordinary meals and walks
A market visit is more enjoyable if you buy something you want to eat rather than expecting every stall to be a bargain. Read prices for portions, drinks and any set menu. Choose a beach walk for the time outdoors, with bags kept in sight when you stop.

Choose the street as carefully as the neighbourhood. Eixample can suit museum and architecture days, Gràcia a stay around smaller squares, and Poblenou a trip with more time near the sea. Check night noise and the actual station walk.
Getting Around
For 2026, a one-zone T-casual is €13 for ten journeys by one person; a T-familiar is €11.50 for eight shared journeys. Neither covers the airport metro gates. Add any ticket-card cost and choose airport travel separately.

Price for your journeyUse the railway station at T2; from T1 add the airport terminal shuttle. Allow roughly 20–35 minutes on the train to the central stop you choose, plus waiting and walking. Buy for Aeroport and your named destination, or use an integrated ticket valid for that journey. The railway, L9 airport metro and Aerobús have different ticket rules.

€7.75Adult single €7.75; the separate return product is €13.30. Both routes run 24 hours, with different terminal destinations. Allow roughly 30–50 minutes to or from Plaça de Catalunya depending on traffic, plus waiting. Integrated city tickets do not cover Aerobús.

€5.90The €5.90 airport ticket covers the airport metro access. T-casual and T-familiar do not open the Aeroport T1/T2 gates. Central destinations usually need a change from L9; allow roughly 40–60 minutes for a central connection rather than treating the first metro segment as the full trip.

Worth Paying For
The Sagrada Família is a useful main paid visit if its interior interests you. Choose the basic or tower product deliberately; the cheaper exhibition-only option at Casa Batlló does not include the house.
Skip / Save Your Money
Skip back-to-back paid Gaudí buildings unless architecture is the main purpose of the trip. A walk along Passeig de Gràcia can fit well with one interior visit.

Keep your bag with you in busy transport and restaurant areas. Choose a room using recent, specific reviews rather than treating an entire neighbourhood as safe or unsafe.
