ETIAS status and the official application site

ETIAS is planned as a travel-authorization requirement for visa-exempt nationals visiting the participating European countries for a short stay. Check the current official status before paying or submitting personal information.

Do not apply before the official system opens

The official EU ETIAS page states the current start timetable and says when no traveler action is required. A specific launch date and any transition arrangements should be confirmed there, not on a commercial site.

When applications open, the official route will be the EU ETIAS website or its official mobile application. Sites that offer early registration, queue places or guaranteed approval do not replace that process.

Check who needs ETIAS

ETIAS is intended for visa-exempt travelers, not as a replacement for a Schengen visa. It is linked to the passport used in the application. A new passport can therefore require a new authorization.

An authorization does not guarantee entry. Border authorities still check the travel document and entry conditions. The 90 days in any 180-day period limit remains a separate calculation.

Keep the checks separate

Before booking, confirm:

• whether the passport holder is visa-exempt
• whether ETIAS is operating for the travel date
• whether the passport meets validity rules
• whether the planned stay fits the short-stay limit
